Spiritual Formation & Research

President: Minister William Hill

The mission of Galilee Baptist Church’s Spiritual Formation Ministry is to provide a Christ-centered opportunity for individuals to develop a personal and intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ, whereby they can make the declaration, “I know Him for myself”, discover their ‘true calling’ in the body of Christ and be equipped for full participation in the work of Christ’s church—worship, evangelism, edification and acts of benevolence. At the heart of the Spiritual Formation ministry is Jesus Christ’s command to His disciples to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey every thing that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). We believe each and every Saint is called to Christian spiritual maturity (Holiness) through a life lived out of the profound experience of being fully united with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection (1 Pet. 1:16; Rom. 6). Our gracious and triune God not only forgives our sin, He transforms and empowers our hearts, minds and souls that we may live holy and righteous lives committed to His word, His will and His way.

To facilitate the making of disciples of Jesus Christ, the Spiritual Formation ministry has developed a comprehensive three-year small group program. Each gender-specific small group intentionally creates a safe and nurturing environment where Christians develop deep knowledge of Jesus Christ by studying and exploring scripture and exercising the spiritual disciplines in community with a facilitator (spiritually mature Christian-mentor) and other developing disciples where all learn and grow, to love and be loved well.

Year 1: is dedicated to the foundational scriptures, Essential doctrines of Christianity and the primary practices of the church (Eph. 4:17-24),

Year 2: is devoted to the development of a deep and intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ and bringing one’s life in alignment to a radically Christ-centered way of life (Mark 12:30-31),

Year 3: is grounded in acquiring the heart sets, mindsets and skills of servant leadership as exemplified by Jesus Christ (Mark 10:45).

The enrollment period for the Spiritual Formation program opens annually on the second Sunday of December and runs thru and including the second Sunday in January. For questions regarding Galilee Baptist Church’s Spiritual Formation program or ministry, please contact Min. William Hill.
