Greetings in the name of Jesus the Christ!

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as they soul prospers."--III John 1:2

Well, through the Providential Grace of God, we have made it to another year, 2013! This is an exciting time in the life of our church. We have proclaimed that this is the year of Unity and Oneness in the Spirit. I am looking forward to the great things that God has in store for His people. Our goal this year is for everyone to be on one accord. We plan to accomplish this by continually emphasizing our church Mission and Vision through the media ministry, and up-dated Website ministry, new church bulletines, and within our Church School classes. We have already started a new Pastoral teaching series on the book The Servant Leader: Transforming Your Heart, Head, Hands, and Habits by Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges. This month we will initate a new sermonic series on Sundays from the First Corinthians entitled, "Order in the Church." We can also look forward to an awesome Leadership Weekend, January 12-13th, which will include an all-day Workshop with Pastor Akin Royall. The Leadership Weekend will culminate on Sunday, January 13th with an anointed "Installation of Servant Leadership" at 4PM with Pastor Bobette Hampton as our guest messenger.

As you all know, I am a man of prayer and I believe that the Church cannot fulfill its mission and mandate without the power of prayer. In 2013, we are committing our church to a quarterly Prayer Meeting. I believe that churches should have more "prayer meetings" than "church busi-ness meetings" because Jesus taught us that his Father's house should be a "House of Prayer"-not a den of thieves. Just know that as your Pastor and Servant Leader, I'm praying for your spiritual, physical, emotional health and wellbeing. I hope and trust that 2013 will be a great year for us as seek to build God's Kingdom, together. If there is anything that I can do to better serve your spiritual needs, please share your ideas and thoughts with me at, on Twitter @DRmtscott, or make an appointment with me. I will endeavor to the best that I can to please my heavenly Father and to serve my Father's people.

Have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!
